MATERIALITY & CHROMATIC GRADIENTS — Experimental Material Research - 2024
The Concept:
An internal aesthetic and material research project by AVNTGARD exploring the dialogue between cold, industrial surfaces and multi-material color gradients. The study analyzes the behavioral shifts of natural light interacting with these contrasting elements, with the ultimate goal of determining whether a visual language currently synonymous with high-end streetwear retail can be cross-pollinated into the food and hospitality sectors.

Industrial vs. Chromatic Contrast: Investigating the visual relationship between raw, aseptic substrates—such as galvanized sheet metal and aluminum—and shifting color gradients applied across diverse material textures.
Natural Light Dynamics: Studying how natural illumination reflects, diffuses, and alters the perception of combined metallic surfaces and color gradients under varying lighting conditions.
Cross-Sector Aesthetic Scaling: Deconstructing the hyper-recognizable aesthetic of contemporary streetwear boutiques to evaluate its spatial, psychological, and functional viability within hospitality and food environments.
