SICUREZZA — High-Density Media Hub - milano 2023
Context & Challenge
Designing a large-scale space at the Sicurezza trade fair to accommodate macroscopic, industrial-scale airport security and passenger screening systems. The architectural challenge for AVNTGARD was to orchestrate a balanced spatial hierarchy: allocating the vast majority of the footprint to heavy physical machinery while engineering a compact, highly communicative, and refined corporate hospitality hub within the same space.
Spatial & Technical Execution
Macroscopic Equipment Zoning: The primary, open-plan front sector of the space was structurally optimized to manage the weight, volume, and complex visitor flows required for live demonstrations of large-scale airport baggage and body scanning systems.
High-Density Communication Hub: The rear section was transformed into an intimate yet visually powerful sanctuary. Continuous parquet flooring was introduced to strip away the coldness of the technical exhibition, establishing an inviting, premium hospitality environment.
The 5-Meter Luminous Beacon (Tower + Storage): A soaring, 5-meter-high tower, completely illuminated from top to bottom, engineered to dominate the fair’s visual landscape. To maximize spatial efficiency, this glowing architectural monolith completely encloses the storage room within its structural core.
Integrated Media Sides: High-definition digital screens were mounted directly onto the sides of the 5-meter luminous tower rather. This placement transforms the central beacon into a multi-directional media anchor, broadcasting corporate content and technical feeds directly to the main traffic flows.
Backlit Horizon Backdrop: The hospitality zone is framed by a massive luminous rear wall (parete di fondo luminosa). This setup creates a clean, high-contrast backdrop that fills the entire rear space with a sophisticated, diffuse glow.
Result
A masterful integration of heavy industrial infrastructure and high-end retail hospitality within a single space. By separating the layout into a high-traffic technical showroom and a high-impact, warm media hub anchored by the 5-meter glowing tower, AVNTGARD ensured maximum structural visibility across the fairgrounds while maintaining an executive environment for high-level B2B negotiations.
